
Maroon 5 is a Pop Rock band from California. They started out as a garage band in Los Angeles and released one album, going by the name Kara's Flowers. In 2001, James Valentine joined the band as the lead guitarist, and they changed the name to Maroon 5. Their debut album, Songs About Jane was released in 2002 and it was highly successful, going triple platinum in several countries. The band has since released three more studio albums. Currently, Maroon 5 is made up of Adam Levine (lead vocals), James Valentine (lead guitar) Mickey Madden (bass guitar), Matt Flynn (drums), and PJ Morton (keyboard). Morton is replacing Jesse Carmichael who decided to take a break from the band in 2012. Maroon 5 has 3 Grammy Awards.
