Nirvana was a grunge band formed in Seattle in the 1980s. The most famous line-up was Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl. They are significant for bringing rock music back to mainstream in 1991 with their acclaimed second album, Nevermind. The band broke up after Cobain's death in April 1994.
